Introduction: GTA 6 PC Release Date and What We Know
The GTA 6 PC release date is the question many players are asking, and the honest answer today is that Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a date. What exists is a report. On 13 October 2026, GamesBeat said that four industry sources, speaking anonymously, independently named the first three months of 2027 as the intended PC window.
This guide explains the GTA 6 PC release date reports, what is confirmed for consoles, how long Rockstar’s earlier PC ports took, what you can do while you wait and how to avoid fake PC download offers.

Quick Answer
- Confirmed: GTA 6 launches digitally on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Not confirmed: Rockstar has not announced a PC edition or a GTA 6 PC release date.
- Reported: GamesBeat says four sources point to Q1 2027 (January to March) for PC, and Rockstar did not respond to the publication before the report appeared.
- If the report is right, PC could arrive between about six weeks and four months after the console launch.
- Cloud gaming: Microsoft has clarified that the console version will not be streamable to PCs through Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch.
- Safest plan: wait for an official Rockstar announcement and avoid any site offering a PC download today.
GTA 6 PC Release Date: Confirmed vs Reported
| Item | Status | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Console launch | Confirmed | 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S |
| PC version | Not announced | Rockstar has not formally announced a PC edition |
| PC window | Reported only | Q1 2027, from four anonymous sources, reported by GamesBeat on 13 October 2026 |
| Xbox Cloud Gaming on PC | Not at launch | Microsoft clarified that the console version will not stream to PCs at launch |
| PC system requirements | Not announced | There are no official requirements yet |
| Multiplayer window | Unconfirmed | Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said a new multiplayer experience would arrive in 2027, but Rockstar has not confirmed it |
How Long Did Rockstar’s Earlier PC Ports Take?
| Game | Console release | PC release | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA V | September 2013 (PS3 and Xbox 360) | April 2015 | About 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 2018 | November 2019 | About a year |
| GTA 6 (reported, unconfirmed) | 19 November 2026 | Q1 2027 | About six weeks to four months if accurate |
If the report is correct, this would be a much faster PC release than Rockstar’s past pattern. Earlier patterns suggested that PC players could wait until late 2027 or beyond, which is why the GTA 6 PC release date reports matter.
What Has Take-Two Said About PC?
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said that Rockstar usually handles platforms one at a time and shares more when it is ready, without ruling out a later version. 80 Level speculates that a PC announcement could come later this year, but that is speculation and not an official plan.
What to Do While You Wait
- Follow Rockstar’s official channels for any announcement, instead of social media posts or video thumbnails.
- Do not buy new PC hardware based on rumoured requirements. Wait for official specifications.
- Do not use cloud streaming as a plan. Microsoft says the console version will not stream to PCs at launch.
- If you need to play at launch, the confirmed platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
GTA 6 PC Download Scams: Red Flags
Because no PC version has been announced, any site offering a PC or Android download is not legitimate.
| Red flag | Why it is risky |
|---|---|
| PC download, free key or beta access | No PC version exists to download, so the offer is a trap |
| APK, EXE or ZIP files | These can contain malware |
| Surveys, human verification or app installs | Common scam tactics |
| Asks for your Rockstar, Steam, PlayStation or Xbox password | Account theft |
